One of the best players in the latest history of Russia, Alexander Kerzhakov, did not take part in Euro 2008, in which the Russian team won the bronze. Why did the best Russian Goleador stayed overboard this important tournament?

Kerzhakov got into the national team back in 2002. He took part in the Mundial and Euro 2004. During the qualifying cycle of the 2006 World Cup, Alexander was the main forward of our national team. Unfortunately, the national team did not get to the World Cup in Germany, but Kerzhakov’s career moved ascending. He looked great in matches for Zenit, and Kerzhakov drew attention to Europe. In the 2006/2007 season, Alexander moved to the Spanish Seville. As part of this club, Kerzhakov won the UEFA Cup, as well as the Spanish Cup and the Cercubation.

At first, Kerzhakov’s affairs at Seville were well developed. But then, with the advent of the new coach, Alexander began to trust less. As a result, Kerzhakov lost his place in the national team. In early 2008, Alexander returned to Russia, signing a contract with Dynamo. He showed good football, but Gus Hiddink preferred other football players to him. Therefore, Kerzhakov remained outside the application for the euro. Then such a decision of the coach did not seem an illogical step. So Kerzhakov missed the 2008 European Championship for objective reasons. There was no conspiracy against him.
